Teddy Bear First Aid was founded by The Respondent and Kinder Castle, to provide a basic first aid program for Ages 4 to 6 and Ages 7 to 10.
Although, Kinder Castle and The Respondent no longer work together. TBFA is still available and now across Canada! Kinder Castle can be found teaching TBFA inWestern Newfoundland between Stephenville and Granfalls. As The Respondent, travels across Canada bring the class to your province!
Please note TBFA, teaches only basic first aid skills for educational purposes only.
CPR is not in the curriculum.
Your children will learn basic first aid skills that will allow them to remain calm and be proactive during an emergency. As previously mentioned, both age groups; four to six and seven to ten follow a similar program structure, nevertheless, ages seven to ten will have a more in-depth learning experience. Children will learn about a first aid kit, what goes into one and how to use the supplies. They will learn about scene safety, how to identify and treat a cut/scrape/bleeding (small & large), how to identify and stabilize a broken arm/wrist, how to identify burns, how to check for breathing and a pulse (No CPR), how to identify a 911 emergency and how to respond. Depending on the time and discretion of the parent/guardian we can teach your child how to place someone into the recovery position.
The program is only 1.5 hours long. Each child will receive a Certificate of Training* and their own "ouch pouch" (first aid kit)!
*not a certified program, our program is for educational purposes only. Children will only need one class to receive a certificate. Program is not affiliated with Canadain Red Cross.
* Fee must be paid by the start of class; we accept cash, credit, debit and EMT.
